Mike, frankly, if you find that odd then I really worry. It must be your public school conservativism coming out in the heat. Myself, I though it was pure linear genius with a strong story and simple almost two dimensional characters. Especially the bit where you travelled through the flamegunned/log/brain firing armed monkey-man and went through the blue/headmountain lifcycle thirdgenerationed monkey child's heart/head to th eroom where the scarred winged Virgin Mary was distributing sweets.

All I can say is get out more and see what real people are up to nowadays.
